VR BOX 2.0

The Cartoni VR Box 2.0 is a revolutionary upgrade designed to enhance real-time camera tracking and integration in virtual production and broadcast applications, compatible with all Cartoni Encoded Heads.
The VR Box converts raw angular data from the encoders into metadata formatted according to the most common protocols (FreeD D1, Mosys F4), interfacing with VR engines via Ethernet, Wi-Fi (2.4GHz) or Radio (2.4GHz – up to 1 km of signal travel distance).
The VR Box comes with a dedicated software to set all the parameters you may need.
Metadata from Canon & Fujinon lenses (Focus, Zoom, and Iris) are collected and streamed along the position data to the virtual production software. The lens cables are optional.
The synchronization is provided by a GenLock signal (Bi-Level, Tri-Level, and Burst/Back Porch).
The GenLock is pass-throught, in this way you can eliminate one cable.
Equipped with proprietary electronics, the VR Box is powered from 12 to 24V and comes with Lemo connectors for easy interfacing with any Cartoni Encoded Fluid Head.
The outside casing features a rosette to ensure convenient and secure mounting on Cartoni Fluid Heads during operation.
The VR Box 2.0 introduces a new groundbreaking feature: real-time calculation of the camera optical centre absolute position (X, Y, Z). This data, along with the camera’s orientation (Pan, Tilt, Roll) and lens parameters (Zoom, Focus, Iris), is processed into a comprehensive data package and made available through the FreeD protocol. This advancement ensures seamless synchronization with AR/VR graphics engines and tracking systems, offering in a single package unparalleled precision and flexibility both in Cine application with VFX in postproduction and in Broadcast real-time AR/VR.
